Mystic Messenger VIP Package

NOTE :

I’m sorry. I will no longer answer questions about Mystic Messenger. I’ve already answered a lot and I think most of the major ones have already been asked by someone else. Please take a look at the comments. Thank you for visiting my blog and good luck with the game.~

OMG IT IS FINALLY HERE!! I am SO glad I opted to get the EMS option as it ensured that I was going to get the package before the dreaded Canada Post lock down. However, with how much the game’s release keeps getting pushed back, chances are it might not even have mattered much if I had gotten it a bit later. I took a bunch of opening box photos just to commemorate its arrival. 😀 I am really happy I got the package to be honest. At least I will forever have memories of this game even after many years to come.

Anyways, sadly for Android users, the game has yet again been pushed back. Some of them must be extremely frustrated by now as it’s been pushed back quite a few times already. They said there’s some problems with the programming that they need to fix. They’re hoping to release it on the 7th KST. Hopefully it’s something they can fix by then. People are probably super antsy by now. I sent a message to Cheritz on Tumblr but now I know the answer to my question after reading their post again and because I tried to see if I can register my account. Only to realize I need to make a game ID with the app (which isn’t released or approved yet for the App store) first before I can activate VIP privileges. So I can’t get that free +50 hourglasses that they’re getting today, lol. Hopefully there’s no problem with the iPhone version and it will be released as scheduled within their estimate of 2 weeks. I’m really hoping Apple will approve it within a week. It’s been absolute torture waiting for this game. T__T ahahah Yep, I’m an impatient idiot, LOL!

Here’s the opening box pics! Can you feel my excitement through these photos? LOL! Sorry for the shitty Phone camera photos. TvT Was too lazy to take my DSLR out. More photos underneath the cut. Click on (MORE…) underneath this photo to see the rest of them.

My Wedding and 7 Rings : Ren Shibasaki

OMG… I can’t believe I would say this but, his entire route in my own humble opinion, is PERFECT! I can’t believe I’m saying this about a mobage but there was nothing in there that made me feel it was draggy or uninteresting (but obviously you have to have a thing for the silent types). He had a huge personality make-over from My Forged Wedding and was seriously so sweet from start to finish. He’s my #1 fave for Sweet Kuudere in any otoge I’ve played so far. They actually wrote his route so well, I can’t believe it! I was thoroughly satisfied. It had the feels, the heart aches, the sexy times and even an interesting flow of the story (you have to like modern settings as well obv). I seriously loved him as a character here. The last story was utterly hilarious though it was pretty obvious what was going on to me, ahahah. XDD I loved how Yamato refused to tell the MC why Ren flew off the handle the night before, LOL!!! I’m like OMG it’s SO OBVIOUS WHY CAN’T YOU SEE IT, GIRL?! Way too many hints for me to pick up ever since the start of the story actually, LOL!

I’m a sucker for childhood friend type stories to begin with and it had all the right “ticks” for me. :’D However, I don’t know if I would recommend him to just anyone because he is pretty quiet. You really have to actually want to get to understand this character as he can be subtle I suppose. To me, I’m used to (and I really like figuring people out) these quiet type guys so they’re very easy to read for me. I met quite a lot of similar people irl who don’t open up very easily and I get on with them quite well actually. 😀 ehehe~ I end up feeling so much more for them whenever emotions are involved. TwT

I’m someone who has already played a shit ton of Voltage INC. games including all the latest releases – and even if this game is a bit old (early or mid 2015), I can say with confidence that it’s one of the best routes as a whole for the “sweet & quiet” type guy. If you don’t like them to begin with, I doubt you would enjoy this route. But if you’re a sucker for the silent but passionate types, I am fairly sure you would enjoy this as well. 🙂

Lookit how sweet they are! *swoon* Actually, the CGs as usual aren’t amazing or anything but the story is where it’s at for this game. 😀 I really felt that him and the MC were born to be together! Even though it was quite a challenge for them to get to that point. He’s seriously such an amazing character that I feel so jealous that I don’t have the same kind of guy in my life! Aurgh! Where are youuuu?! My real life Ren Shibasaki?! ahahah.. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed this route. I guess this isn’t a full-on review ‘cos I seriously don’t want to spoil a single thing! However, I am more than glad to talk about this guy in one entry just so I could look back one day and remember. 🙂 By the way, just a reminder, Ren Shibasaki is completely different in My Forged Wedding (MFW) and My Wedding & 7 Rings (MWa7R). I don’t recommend his MFW version. He is totally flat there. x__x I bought a couple more routes because I was curious, and it was the first Voltage game I ever played. D: Seriously regretted it. He was sweet and all but that was pretty much it. x_X They really didn’t do his character justice to be honest. In  MWa7R, however, they made full use of his personality/characteristics extremely well in each situation.

The future of Otome Games

Yesterday was a very big day for otome fans. For the first time ever, a major localization game company, Aksys, has announced at AX2016 that they are bringing in not just 1 game, but 3! Those 3 titles are : Collar X Malice, Bad Apple Wars and Period Cube. I am definitely going to buy all 3. I don’t care what other people say about how mediocre these games are. I still want to support the industry and encourage them to bring more titles to the West. I have heard of some people complaining all the time about why “idiots” (they didn’t say this but they might as well with how condescending they’re being) are lapping up all these blah game titles. It’s not only that I want to support the industry, this is also somewhat another type of advertising to lure MORE people in to even get interested in such a niche genre. The more fans there are, there would be even more chances to be able to recommend others to play otome games. Right now, there’s barely much otoges to even tell people about! It will come to a point where there will be a ton of games (well, a ton compared to how it’s been, lol) that will be localized for all of us so that we can start to pick and choose what we all want to buy. Since *SHOCK* we actually HAVE options now! (/sarcasm) I mean seriously, even amongst the games in the Japanese otoge market right now, how many of them are actually even awesome? Those are few and far between to begin with! So I really don’t understand this attitude of looking down on western fans for buying anything that doesn’t seem to “meet their standards” when it’s not like everyone’s even swimming in fantastic games to begin with whether or not it’s been localized.

I believe this is when the sales will start to matter and these companies will look at the figures and start being way more selective. They may not give a crap about how fans may feel but they will of course listen to what we are all willing to buy if a certain title doesn’t do well. They’re an effin’ business. That’s pretty common sense. But one thing that people seem to constantly overlook is that we still need to increase the fan base! Lots of different titles are needed to lure different types of otome game players. I’m starting to get extremely irritated by selfish players who have no problem reading and understanding Japanese, can play wtv the hell they want and yet say this insensitive shit. Not only once or twice but in every single time lately whenever some game gets localized that doesn’t fit their standards. If you don’t want to buy the local games then fine. No need to keep repeating yourself over and over. It’s extremely annoying. “Ohhh… these people can’t read or understand the Japanese otoges so they have absolutely no choice but to buy this worthless piece of shit games. What a pity. They’re just wasting their money. Boo hoo. Too bad they can never know the greatness of such-and-such titles.”  No matter what you or we believe in, one thing is clear : You’re being effin’ selfish! It’s not like you are even going to buy localized games! All your constant complaints are completely unnecessary! I mean sure, you can talk about it a couple of times, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion after all, but fucking hell! Show some restraint!
