Overview : It’s the year 2045; A dangerous experiment called RUNLIMIT was conducted on 6 children who volunteered for the sake of taking their beloved childhood friend’s place. This unfortunate event has turned their whole world upside down. Trapped within a laboratory with no hope, they seem to be living their lives like they were practically given a death sentence. Is this going to end in tragedy or will there be a light at the end of the tunnel?

Track 1 – Past Memories

I only wanted to… protect you…

Hey! I found it!

It got caught in this tree.

This is your hat that was blown away by the wind, right?

That’s great. Let’s hurry and go home then. It’s quite dark already.

[0:30]

It’s fine!

I couldn’t just let you enter that forest alone.

I’m sure you’ve been told since you were small that the forest is too dangerous to enter alone.

In your case, you can’t enter the forest alone no matter how old you are! I mean, you’re so clumsy.

It’s the truth!

You almost fell back then too, although there was nothing to trip on!

There are so many cliffs here, you need to be careful.

Also, during the night…

Damn! Speaking of the devil…

[1:11]

Let’s go! Hurry!

Run faster!

Damn it…!

Come on, give me your hand! Don’t let go!

What?!

Can’t be helped… come this way!

[1:46]

We’ll hide here for a while.

I don’t know, but they probably haven’t noticed us yet, since they’re not coming after us.

Woah, I panicked. The wild dogs out here are seriously scary! They try to bite you if you look at them.

Are you okay?

I’m sorry… I held your hand instinctively. Should I let go?

[2:19]

We…. well, if you insist, I’ll hold your hand then.

Haha… I’m so hungry.

What’s that?

A madeleine? Did you make this? Wow!

[2:49]

It’s delicious! As expected of your aunt!

Haha, I knew it. You said, “I helped out,” which means it’s mostly your aunt who made it, right?

Hahaha. I knew it.

Then you should make it yourself next time. I want to eat your handmade madeleines more.

Hehe. If you still have some more, can I have them?

[3:22]

What’s wrong?

That’s right.

That freaked me out! It’s a bird.

It’s okay! I’ll take you home right away.

Let’s go. Can you stand up?

Um… I think we came from.. this way…

Huh? It was this way, wasn’t it?

Strange… was it that way?

It’s too dark for me to see properly.

Don’t worry! We’ll be there in no time.

[4:10]

I think if we take this path…

Huh? Was it the opposite way?

Don’t cry! I’m sorry. No, it’s not your fault. It’s because I’m so unreliable. I’m sorry.

Don’t worry. I’ll protect you no matter what happens.

My family?

I see, you’re talking about my parents.

It’s true… Taki, Kurashima, Shiba, Arima, Mikado, and my family, Katagiri, have been your family’s valets throughout the generations.

[5:00]

I’ve been told to protect you, but… that’s not how it is!

I want to protect you, regardless of my family duties.

Don’t look so sad. I’m not doing this because the adults told me to, but because I really want to.

No matter what, no matter what happens to me, I will protect you.

Yea, I’ll always be with you.

Even if I wasn’t born to the Katagiri family, I would’ve done the same.

[5:45]

I mean… that’s because… I…

It’s nothing! Come on, let’s go!

I see a light that way! It might be your house.

Come on, I’ll hold your hand again. Let’s go home.

[6:16]

4586 hours until the Runlimit experiment ends.

My body… is so heavy. My head hurts.

My legs and arms… feel numb.

That’s right… I lost control of myself again.

[6:58]

When the cells in my body lose control, I can’t hold in my power no matter what I do.

It makes me run away from this place and destroy anything I see in the city.

When I come to my senses, I’m being injected with a sedative and then I’m sent back here against my will. This just keeps repeating.

No matter how many times they inject me, I’m still not used to this. How many more times will I need to endure this pain?

[7:34]

My sight is blurry for a while, and being unable to move my body is the worst part.

They need to fortify this facility first, so that I won’t be able toe scape.

I know that my power is becoming stronger.

I know it, and so do the guards.

We all know… that there’s no use making the facility’s security stronger.

[8:06]

My cells will either get really out of control and kill me suddenly, or the time limit will come…

If either one of these happen, I can die.

Today’s a sunny day…

Come to think of it, it was also sunny when we played hide-and-seek back then…

I accept my fate, but…

If I could have one wish…

I wonder… if she’s doing well.

I want to see her.

[8:53]

If I can see her again, I want to tell her… what I couldn’t tell her back then.

It’s impossible though…

She doesn’t remember me.

This is the year 2045. The world has started to develop humans.

[9:29]

The Japanese government decided to artificially develop humans who don’t need to sleep or rest.

The name of the experiment is Runlimit.

Citizens who were chosen as the test subjects had the government’s independently developed drug injected into their body.

However, it wasn’t compatible with the cells in our body, and the experiment failed.

[9:54]

The subjects suffered from lethal defects as a consequence.

And me, Ren Katagiri, who is one of them, suffers from a defect they call inferno.

I cause things around me to ignite against my will.

I have become a violent monster.

I was chosen to become the subject for this world’s worst experiment, because…

Track 2- A Beginning Called Reunion

I know already! I need to stay in this room, right?

I won’t get out of control. It’s not night yet.

A new guard today? What’s going on?

You… why… are you here?

I thought you weren’t in Japan anymore!

Why are you here?!

[0:45]

No… I’m sorry. It’s nothing.

Yea, that’s right.

I’m eighteen now, so I have two years until the time limit.

You really don’t… remember anything.

It’s nothing.

I heard there’s going to be a new guard today. Don’t tell me it’s you.

[1:26]

I… see…

It’s not really a problem… but… I thought it’s strange for you to guard me, when we’re probably around the same age.

A technology institute?! How could you have graduated from university?

You were allowed to skip grades? I didn’t know you were so smart…

[1:55]

So, why are you here?

That’s not what I’m asking. I’m asking you why you’ve become a guard.

You want to help?

You really don’t remember about us, right? Then… why?

No, it’s nothing.

I’m sorry, but can I return to my room?

I just feel… really confused. I need time to think.

It’s fine! I can go back to my room alone.

Please don’t come near me.

[2:53]

Ms Guard, isn’t it a bit early?

It just finally became morning. I was about to return to my room.

Decided?

You’re going to be with me all day?! Who decided that?!

Your boss?

Oh, an important person of the research team.

So? What am I supposed to do?

Is there something else we need to do in this research lab?

[3:32]

Hey! Don’t come any closer.

If I lose control, I’ll…!

For now, yes, but I might start losing control during the day eventually.

What’s your evidence?

No. You don’t understand anything. Trying my best is not going to cure me.

I don’t know how hard you’ve been researching, but it’s pointless.

I’ve tried to control myself so many times… and tried so many new drugs.

Nothing worked! Nothing!

[4:16]

You don’t know… how many times I had to give up all hope.

Get out. Don’t come near me again.

You’re a nuisance to me.

Your face… looks exactly the same as before…

It’s nothing.

I thought you know everything about the subjects?

Then you know that we’re called fireflies, right?

That’s because our lives are short, just like fireflies.

[5:01]

Most subjects have died before they reached twenty.

I’m eighteen right now, so I have two more years. That means I hardly have any time left.

We tried many treatments these past five years, but nothing worked.

Do you really think anything will change in the next two years? Common sense says it’s impossible.

I said it’s pointless! There’s no way for us to be saved!

[5:34]

I don’t need your help. I’m going to die soon anyway.

If you understand, hurry up and disappear from my sight.

I’m going back to my room.

[6:01]

It’s a sunny day again.

I want to go outside once before I die, when I’m not out of control.

The facility we are kept in is quite spacious. We have our own rooms, and common areas to go to as well.

The others apparently go their to kill time.

But I refuse to join and spend most of my time alone in this room.

[6:36]

I don’t need your help. I’m going to die soon anyway.

If you understand, hurry up and disappear from my sight.

She looked so hurt when I said that…

It’s been so long since I met her… what am I doing…

[7:02]

This is how it’s supposed to be.

Why did she suddenly appear before me?

You’re really stubborn. I didn’t even say you can come in.

So? Why are you here?

What? Cook?

[7:50]

Yea, so what? It’s not like I’m not allowed to stay in this room, am I?

I go to the research lab at night. It’s my business what I do before that.

I don’t want to. Cooking is so bothersome.

Hey!

Fine, I’ll go!

If I eat something delicious, I’ll become more happy, huh?

No… it’s just that I’ve never come to the kitchen.

[8:36]

I didn’t want to come here.

If you want to cook, do it yourself. I’ll sit here and watch.

She’s going to use fire after all…!

You’re going to cook something good right? Hurry up then.

I’m so bored.

I’m sure normal humans can nap and wait…

It’s not something you should apologise for.

They made me take the drugs because they wanted to develop humans who don’t need to sleep. This is an obvious consequence.

Well, the side-effects are stronger though.

That’s right, shark cells. Sharks die if they don’t move because that causes them to stop breathing. That’s why sharks continue to move without sleeping or stopping.

[9:46]

But it’s not like they really don’t sleep. While they swim, half of their brain sleeps while the other half stays awake.

Something like their right and left hemispheres taking turns to rest.

Well, you should know more about that than me.

You should’ve found out through your research that I can’t be cured.

Where does your confidence come from?

More importantly, stop talking and move your hands.

[10:24]

Is it done?

Not really. It was quite entertaining seeing you move about.

No, it’s nothing.

More importantly, what have you made?

Madeleines!

I don’t hate them. Actually… I guess I like them.

Then you should make it yourself next time. I want to eat your handmade madeleines more.

[11:06]

Do you… actually remember… your promise?

It’s nothing. You don’t remember.

I guess it won’t go that conveniently.

It’s delicious. It’s really delicious. It’s exactly how I remember it.

Yea, it’s delicious. So you’ve learned how to make these yourself…

[11:51]

What is it?

I’m not smiling. Don’t look this way. You’re seeing things.

Don’t tease me!

No! Don’t touch me!

Don’t you ever touch me.

Did you think you could tame me with some cooking?

I’m not like other humans. I’m a monster!

[12:27]

Stop it!

We don’t need to talk about that anymore.

I’m tired.

I’m going to the lab. It’s already night.

I’m sure you know that when it’s night…

2932 hours until the Runlimit experiment ends.

[13:00]

Don’t come near me! Don’t come here!

Damn it, it’s already time!

It’s… hot!

My body…

Don’t come near me!

Don’t come… near me!

You’ll die!

Track 3- Right Hemisphere Left Hemisphere

Damn it!

No… stop it! Stop it! Stop it!

Stop it!!

You! I told you not to come!

Why… hurry! Get away from me!

[0:43]

Haha!

I told you to run away. You’re so stupid.

You won’t be able to escape now…

This room is sealed at night to prevent me from escaping.

You’re not running?

That’s convenient for me then…

I’ll just eat you.

I’m sure you know that while our cells lose control, our body loses a lot of energy.

So… we get really hungry.

[1:35]

I already told you that we took drugs which were developed from shark cells.

Sharks eat anything in their way when they’re hungry.

Including things they would usually not eat, even trash. They think anything is food!

We’re the same.

When we lose control… our sense of smell becomes very sensitive.

I won’t eat trash, but… the blood of live humans really excite us.

[2:16]

At night, you’re nothing but a feast to me.

I mean, you’re not running away, right?

Well, thank you for the meal then! Hahaha!

It’s not a lie. Why would I say such a stupid lie?

I just want to… satisfy my craving. I’m a monster after all.

What?

What are you saying?

I’m a monster no matter how you look at me.

[2:53]

You’re wrong! I’m a creature that can eat humans to satisfy his hunger.

It’s always been like this. How many humans do you think I’ve attacked outside?

I’m a different creature from you!

Shut up! I’m not a human anymore. I’m just a monster!

You came here knowing this, right?

[3:28]

You should know very well.

Or did you come here because you wanted to be attacked?

Trust me? Hahahaha.

How can you say that when you’re shaking so much?

[3:54]

See? Your legs are shaking so much.

I can hear your heartbeat very well too.

The fear must be unbearable.

You’re not scared, huh?

Then let’s test you.

I only bit your ear lightly. Just this, and you’re surprised?

You’re so unlucky. Poor you.

[4:32]

Trapped in this room with a monster like me. It’s so obvious your body’s shaking. I don’t think you’re suitable for being a guard.

Why don’t you quit already?

I wonder how long your stubbornness will last for.

What? I’m only tasting you. I haven’t started actually eating you yet, so don’t be so scared.

[5:04]

Why don’t you let out a cuter voice? Hahaha.

There’s no use resisting!

Do you think you can overpower me?

When I’m close to you like this…

I’m really getting hungry…

I’m at my limit.

2856 hours until the Runlimit experiment ends.

[5:47]

What’s… that? A… sedative…

You were… hiding that all along?

Runlimit? Is that the experiment I saw on TV?

I thought it was dangerous because it’s not fully understood yet.

She is?! She can’t! It’s too dangerous! She definitely can’t!

Sir, you must know too! We have to stop her.

[6:24]

That can’t be… What do you mean, it can’t be helped?

Then… I’ll be the test subject in her place! I’ll take her place.

I won’t let her do something so dangerous.

I promised to protect her no matter what!

That’s why… I will take her place.

[7:02]

She’s… crying again today.

It’s not even her fault.

Whenever she sees our faces, she looks so sad.

Hey… can’t you take away her memories?

Yori, I’m sure you’ll be able to do that.

Then… she won’t need to suffer anymore.

[7:31]

I don’t want to see her sad face anymore.

I don’t mind if she forgets me, if she can be at peace.

So please…

Track 4- The Outside World

My head… hurts.

Were you here… the whole time?

You saw how I was yesterday, right? You should consider yourself lucky that I didn’t eat you.

Don’t ever come near me again. You’re really going to die.

How can you say that when I did that to you?

[0:51]

Can’t you see that I can’t move? I don’t need any food.

What?

Stop it! You don’t need to feed me.

Fine, I’ll eat later so leave it there.

What’s wrong with you?

How can you act so normally after what happened yesterday?

Change? Why?

[1:28]

Why are your clothes different from usual?

Did they burn… yesterday?

Go outside? The kitchen again?

You actually mean outside?!

No, I’ve come to the city at night after escaping the facility, but it’s my first time going out during the day after becoming a test subject.

[2:02]

I guess I’m feeling a bit…I’m not nervous, but maybe a little moved.

When I escape the facility, I can’t enjoy the scenery because I’m out of control.

I can’t take a leisurely walk either.

I always wanted to walk outside normally.

How did you do it? It’s prohibited for subjects to go outside.

[2:33]

Your authority? You have such a high rank? I see.

So where do you intend to take me?

What? You don’t have anywhere in mind?

I don’t know where I want to go…

I know nothing about the outside world. That store? Hey, wait!

[3:07]

This is… a furniture store? Why are we here?

What? I already have a bed.

Don’t tell me… you’re bothered about what I told you before?

I won’t be able to sleep, even if you get me a good bed.

All I can do is lie down and close my eyes.

[3:35]

So the bed I have is pointless too.

Well… I guess… I’d be happy if I can rest properly.

This? Well… it’s okay.

It doesn’t need to be so big, since it’s only for me.

[4:05]

Hey! Are you allowed to lie down like that? It’s a product on sale…

Customers are allowed to try out these beds.

Is that so?

Yes. The designs and feel of the beds are different depending on the brand, so please go ahead and try them.

I’m fine.

You have a very cute girlfriend.

Are you thinking of buying a double bed?

What?

Then there are some in that corner.

No, we’re not like that.

Hey! Don’t run away and leave me here!

We look forward to your next visit!

[4:52]

Don’t run away and leave me alone just because you felt embarrassed!

Don’t lie. Even your ears are red!

Hahahaha!

Why on earth did we go in there again?

It’s fine. I feel too embarrassed to go in there again.

More importantly, I’m getting hungry. Let’s go somewhere we can eat.

[5:20]

Wait. You keep running off by yourself, so give me your hand.

Don’t run off somewhere alone.

That’s my line! Don’t get lost.

Also… stop calling me Ren-san. You can call me Ren.

There’s no need to use polite Japanese either. It just feels strange.

I’m not using it either, so you don’t need to.

[5:58]

Well, I won’t force you if you’re doing it to distance yourself from me because I’m a test subject.

I don’t dislike it. I would rather you talk to me like you did before.

No…. it’s nothing.

Come on, let’s go eat!

[6:28]

We’ve walked quite a lot. I’m fine, but aren’t you tired?

You had fun?

Have you forgotten your role?

Haha. Well, I almost forgot too.

Are we going home soon?

One last thing I want to do before we leave?

Let’s see… I think the park I used to play in before is over there.

Yea, we should find it at the end of this path…

[7:10]

That is, if my memory is correct.

I’m talking about ten years ago, so it might not be there anymore.

The city has changed so much already.

Yea, I hope it’s there.

It’s there! That’s the park!

That’s right! How nostalgic.

[7:44]

This area’s hardly changed! The playground equipment has changed though. The old ones must’ve been too worn out.

Well, you probably can’t tell though.

What?

No… you must be thinking about something else. There’s no way you would remember…

What…?

[8:17]

I don’t know. How would I know about your past?

I only just met you.

What are you saying? Why would you feel nostalgic when you’re with me?

You’re wrong.

You would remember if you knew me from before.

You should’ve recognized me when we met.

You’re just… imagining things.

[8:54]

Hey, why are you so kind to me, when I’m only a test subject?

You cooked for me… and even came out to the city with me.

You treat me like I’m a normal human.

I don’t understand why you’re acting this way.

It’s strange. Your only objective should be to collect data from me, the test subject.

[9:24]

But you don’t even collect any data. Instead, you treat me like a friend.

Why…?

Listen to your… story?

No, it’s nothing. So… what happened to your father?

He was a genius researcher.

No, it’s your surname! I thought I heard it somewhere, so it clicked when you told me he’s a researcher.

[10:08]

I saw him on TV a few times when I was a child, so I know his face.

Continue your story.

She told me that she spent the past five years researching about the fireflies and developing new drugs.

I asked her why she’s trying so hard, when she told me she’s doing all this because she wants to save the test subjects.

[10:38]

She said that for some reason she just feels like she has to save us.

She said this with a very serious expression.

Even though her memory’s gone, her character hasn’t changed at all…

But it looks like she’s forgotten everything about her father and about how the Runlimit experiment started.

[11:07]

Maybe that’s why she has hope.

Maybe that’s why she still believes for a miracle, that I will be saved.

I understand what you want to say, but look at this.

My bangle is counting down, right?

It counts down depending on my cells’ reaction. The more I lose control, the more I damage my body.

It’s a countdown to my death.

[11:55]

If my cells go out of control very rapidly, I might even die suddenly without reaching this life expectancy.

None of the subjects have reached twenty, and some of them have died suddenly or suicided due to psychological problems.

I’m sure you know this too.

I’ve seen these deaths before my eyes.

I’m now eighteen. My danger level is four out of five. I’m in quite a dangerous condition, and I might die anytime.

[12:39]

That’s why you don’t need to try and save me anymore.

You must understand now. I’m going to die. It’s certain.

That again…

You’re so stubborn.

I said it’s pointless. The end is certain.

[13:13]

Why won’t you understand?!

I keep telling you, but you…

No matter how much you’ve researched, what’s impossible is impossible!

Everyone died. Everyone! I’m going to die too.

Throw away such groundless hope!

What?

There’s something you want to try?

Track 5- The Sound of Hope

Whatever it is you want to try out… does it need to be now?

It’s getting dark…. at this rate, I’m going to attack you again.

Hurry… and get out of this room…

Fine…

1652 hours until the Runlimit experiment ends.

My head hurts!

[0:51]

What’s that? A drug?

It came from abroad? Is it from your research team?

It’s a new drug for fireflies?

Will it really work?

I’m the first one to try it? Isn’t that a bit scary?

That’s the fruit of all the research you’ve done, right?

You’ve been so defiant about your research until now.

Try it then! I’m going to die anyway, so dying now won’t make a difference.

[1:39]

Well… it’s unclear if it’ll work.

If you don’t hurry, it’s going to be time.

Before I start losing control again…

What’s wrong? Aren’t you going to inject me?

[2:04]

Why are you hesitating now? I said I’m going to believe in you.

Why can’t you believe in yourself then? Haven’t you worked really hard for this?

What are you going to do? You really need to hurry.

What? If you’re so scared, then just inject me and flee from here.

[2:35]

Don’t tell me… you’re worried about me, and not yourself?

Haha… don’t worry. Even if anything happens to me, I’m just a monster.

But if I lose control and try to hurt you like I did yesterday, you must run away.

This lab is going to be sealed soon. So… if you understand…

Just hurry up and do it! I’ll be fine!

[3:18]

Hurry! Otherwise… I’m really going to…

Hurry! Hurry up! There’s no time to hesitate!

I’m going to…! Hurry up!

You look… more worried than me. You’re going to save me, right? No matter what.

Who’s the girl who said that to me?

Idiot.

[4:26]

Huh? My breath is…

I’m not…. out of control, right?

Usually, my head starts hurting and my body starts heating up….

But… the heat left me and…

This must mean your drug worked!

Ow!

Who jumps onto their test subject because they’re so happy?

Hahaha!

You even knocked me off my seat. How strong are you? Haha.

[5:16]

Yea, I’m also really surprised. It actually worked!

Haha. I’m kidding, idiot. Of course I believed in you.

Even you said you didn’t…

No, it’s…. wait.

Please let us… stay this way… I’m sorry.

I’ll let you go soon.

Please let me do this… just for now.

[6:04]

I will always be with you.

What’s wrong?

It’s just your imagination. I’ve never hugged you.

Stop it. It’s fine. You don’t need to remember anything.

It’s best left forgotten. You don’t need to think about anything.

More importantly, doing this is making me really sleepy.

It might be the drug…

[6:54]

I might be able to sleep at this rate…

No… it’s fine. I want to sleep like this… and not on the bed.

If I fall asleep, you can leave me on the floor or something.

I can sleep… finally…

[7:23]

Thanks to you…

Track 6- The Truth Behind the Sacrifice

It’s morning?

Did you sleep like this for me?

I told you to leave me on the floor.

Thank you.

I slept like a normal human for the first time since my body changed.

It must be thanks to that drug… no, thanks to you.

If this drug keeps working, I’m sure the other guys will also…

What is it?!

Three hours left until the Runlimit experiment ends.

What?

[1:00]

Who are you guys?!

The experiment is over. You need to come here immediately.

What?

Look at his bangle! This test subject’s time limit is near.

Ren Katagiri’s danger level was already high. It wouldn’t have been a surprise if he suddenly died.

But yesterday, I didn’t even lose control…!

See, with your time limit nearing, your cells have started to lose control.

When the time limit is near, the test subject will lose his sense of self, lose control and die.

Before that happens, we’re going to take him to the quarantine room and destroy him.

[1:41]

It’s too late for anything! You should know if you’re part of the research team.

All test subjects that have reached this level will die without exception.

Stand up! Let’s get moving!

You… are you going to get in our way, when you’re working as a guard?

Letting a test subject go free is the same as disobeying the government!

Shut up!

Stop it! Don’t touch her!

It’s too dangerous. We need to get him now!

Wait! Go after him!

[2:42]

I found him! He’s over there!

It can’t be helped… before he burns all the buildings…

Hey! Get the guns ready!

We should be able to corner him. Shoot him then!

Over there! Aim your guns!

You!

Shoot!

That’s my line! Are you okay?

Damn it! Next! Aim!

[3:26]

I will protect you, no matter what!

Don’t look so sad. I’m not doing this because the adults told me to, but because I really want to.

No matter what, no matter what happens to me, I will protect you.

Yea, I’ll always be with you.

Even if I wasn’t born to the Katagiri family, I would’ve done the same. I mean… that’s because… I…

[4:17]

What’s wrong…?

More importantly, you need to get out of here.

Hey! Hold that subject down so he doesn’t escape!

We’ll be over there immediately!

Hey!

Where are you going?! What are you thinking…!

Do you intend to betray the government?!

Hey! Wait!

Track 7- In The Future

You’re an idiot! Why did you help me? Go back to the lab!

What do you mean, you don’t want to? You don’t have a choice!

You might die, you know?

I can’t be saved! Look at this bangle! I hardly have any time left.

At this rate, my power might go out of control and you might get dragged into it!

Before that happens, you have to leave this place.

Don’t worry about me!

You… remember?

[0:56]

My words just now?

I see… you really remember everything…

Yea, that’s right.

Your father is the one who started Runlimit when the government asked him to.

Ojisan… your father chose you, his daughter, as the first test subject for Runlimit.

[1:30]

It was believed that a child’s cells that haven’t fully developed is most compatible with the newly developed drug.

That person must’ve lost his mind to choose his daughter for the test subject.

We realised that you were in danger, so we six went to your father together and told him desperately to stop.

But… he didn’t listen to us at all.

[2:00]

That’s why I told him that I’ll take your place, because I wanted to protect you.

The other five also volunteered.

You knew about it only after we received the drug.

You kept coming to the lab and cried so much while looking at us through the glass.

You stood their for hours, and only went home when the facility staff dragged you away.

[2:36]

I couldn’t bear to see you like that.

That’s why I asked Yori to take away your memories of us.

His defect was “hypnosis,” which meant he could create altered states of consciousness.

Basically, he could control your mind.

None of us opposed my idea.

That’s how we disappeared from your mind, and you stopped coming to the lab.

The experiment at the facility failed, and we ended up like this.

[3:22]

The government was pressured by the public, so it put all the blame on your father.

Your father… committed suicide after all the backlash from society.

Stop it, don’t apologise!

It’s not your fault.

None of this is your fault.

You’re wrong. I never once regretted taking your place.

I just wanted to protect you. I wanted to save you no matter what.

So please don’t apologise. I did it because I wanted to.

[4:18]

I might be at my limit.

Hey… do you remember?

We went into the forest to look for your hat.

We found your hat immediately, but we got really scared when the wild dogs came out.

Haha. I tried to protect you desperately.

I wonder why I’m remembering this now.

I suppose people remember things that makes them happy before they die.

[4:58]

You are so…

I was going to accept my death quietly.

And then you came to me.

I was so surprised, but I was actually really happy.

I dragged you into this, but I was so happy to see you.

Why are you crying, idiot? It’s going to make you look ugly!

[5:41]

I don’t even have five minutes left.

I’m sorry. My body… must be really hot.

I’m still… doing my best to keep it down, because I want to hug you again.

I’m sorry for making you cry again, but if I don’t say it now, I’ll regret it again like last time.

Will you listen to… my feelings?

I love you. You were the only one in my eyes all this time.

That’s why… I was happy to protect you and take your place.

[6:48]

I didn’t mind that at all. I’m just happy that you’re alive now.

I won’t be with you anymore, but never give up, even when you face hard times.

When it gets difficult for you, imagine me being with you.

That’s impossible! I’m…

One minute until the Runlimit experiment ends

It’s time.

No, stay away from me.

[7:45]

Forty seconds until the Runlimit experiment ends.

Thirty seconds until the Runlimit experiment ends.

What a… pathetic way… to die… in front of you.

[8:21]

It was for a short time, but… I was so happy… spending time with you.

Ten seconds until the Runlimit experiment ends.

Nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two…

[9:02]

Hurry! Come this way!

What is this…? A dream?

You’re so slow! I’ll hold your hand. Come on!

How nice… we looked so happy back then…

I wanted to be with her longer…

You can!

Didn’t you tell her before, that you will protect her no matter what?

[9:43]

What are you saying?

You’re going to protect her, right?

That was… a dream?

This is…

I…

What happened?

What on earth happened?

Of course I wouldn’t open my eyes. I died…

I didn’t?

No way. I mean…

That’s the drug you developed!

Did you inject it into me afterwards?

[10:33]

I started breathing again?

One week?! I know I haven’t slept for a very long time, but isn’t that too long?

No wonder my body feels so heavy.

Yea, I’m sorry for making you worried.

When I saw her laugh and cry, I finally felt like I was alive.

Then she told me everything.

That the new drug was developed from human cells.

[11:31]

That the drug was developed because they believed that continuing to administer a drug developed from human cells would reverse the effects of the drug developed from shark cells, which made our brain switch between the two hemispheres.

A report has been finalised to show that after a week of administering that drug to me, my brain cells have mostly returned to normal.

After I heard everything, tears naturally fell from my eyes.

They weren’t tears of regret or fear, but tears of happiness and joy.

[12:16]

I see… you must’ve worked so hard for me.

Thank you so much. This is all thanks to you.

Thank you.

I never thought I could hug you like this again.

We’re really alive.

I can tell our hearts are beating. I’m so glad you’re safe too.

[12:58]

But I think your heartbeat is a little faster than mine.

Listen! Yours is faster…

What’s wrong?

Oh, I’m making you nervous!

Well, I’m sorry, but you’re going to need to stay like this for a while.

Shut up. This is fine.

[13:35]

Too bad I can’t move well yet.

I’m talking about now.

There’s so much I want to do to you. Hehe.

Maybe I should’ve bought it back then.

Remember the double bed the staff recommended to us?

With that, we could sleep together…

[14:00]

Huh? I just wanted to relax and sleep with you.

Remember? We slept on the floor last time. I felt so happy then. It was the first time in a while since I slept so well.

Were you thinking of something else?

Haha. Well, we will eventually.

For now, I want to tell you properly.

I couldn’t tell you properly when I was a child, and last time we were in a terrible state, with me going out of control.

I want to tell you properly, one more time.

I love you.

[14:59]

I want to stay with you and protect you forever.

So will you stay with me forever from now on?

I finally said it!

Haha. I’m so happy.

[15:23]

I’ll never let you go. I’ll be with you forever.

I love you!

Track 7- RUN-LIMIT short version

The thread that tied me to my home has just been cut

And I was thrown into the darkness.

The dream I had that day has been ripped apart and thrown away

My smile faded away and forgotten

A closed world and my confused shadow,

But I still carry the memories that can’t be erased.

The cradle of the limited time I have left

My unstoppable feelings continue to engrave

My heart with infinite feelings is still calling for you now.
